Scholarship & Fellowship
RCFI has versatile education and living scholarship programmes for deferent type of the students and communities. It covers orphans and poor families across the country. There are many at risk students, is been part of the programme. The fellowship covers education and living cost of the students.
- 7500 students who live in at-risk condition gets a regular and quality education.
- Almost 200 mentally challenged kids get proper training, education, physical ability improvement activities and mental exercises on a regular basis in our special care schools.
Orphan Care Programme
The needs of caring orphan in India are overwhelming. India has approximately three times the population of the United States living in one third of the space. Introduce intense poverty, famine, drought, natural disasters, and health consequences, and you have a recipe for tragedy and most significantly, vulnerable children. India has the largest number of estimated orphans and vulnerable children in the world — 31 million.
Orphan care is one of the major programme of RCFI. RCFI has adopted 7283 orphans of 18 states. The organization identify potential candidates through various orphan drives conducted in deferent part of the country and through referral programme. Through orphan care programme RCFI do
- Serve them to meet their physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs
- We provide guidance, inspiration, and hope to children in seemingly hopeless situations.
- Cover their educational expenditure completely.
- And also cover living expenditure of the orphan family.
Once the application received, the programme staffs used to verify the details provided by the family or students. After identify the potential candidate, the organization try to adopt the student through various foundations or individual donor. The fellowship cover education, health and living cost of the students. Normally every students gets the stipend till 18 years. RCFI conduct several programmes for the students on a regular basis on deferent topics which includes interactions with professionals, physiologists and other related peoples. The organization provides motivational sessions, career guidance, personality development, sessions for guardians of the children and other related topics. RCFI also give individual counselling for the identified students if they are in need of the same. One of another area the organization look at under this programme is linking the students to the mainstream educational institutions.
Higher Education Scholarship Programme
The programme is in operational since 2012. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the meritorious students from financially backward families to pursue their education in reputed institutions with the aim of reducing dropouts due to financial constraints. 88 new students received the fellowships. At present 119 students of Kerala and Kashmir are getting the benefit from the programme. The organization also provide career guidance sessions and job orientation as per the need of the candidates.
Teacher Fellowship Programme
Unavailability of quality teachers at the rural area and their mobility is the one of the major problem of the education sector today. There are several teachers with high quality working in education sector with less salary. So matching two edge of the life is very much challenging job for them. Many of them are working with marginalized communities. RCFI identified 36 such teachers who are financially not sound from Kerala, Utharagand and Karnataka, and providing them a fellowship amount to ensure their quality services in the respective area.
Scholarship for Differently Abled and Mentally Challenged People
RCFI adopted 173 differently abled youths of Kerala. The organization provide financial support to meet their education costs in special care schools, health expenditure and their living costs. The fund also been utilized to run two special care schools in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts of Kerala.
